Upcoming Networks

This network will be facilitated by ETF staff but led by you, this is your chance to share your learnings from the T Level Conferences, let us know if any topics were missing from the agenda and ask the questions that you weren’t able to on the day.

Even if you weren’t able to come, either because places filled up so quickly, or because something came up last minute, this is a Network not to miss. You can listen to those that attended and ask any questions about the day. But this Network is not only about the conferences.

We’ll be reflecting on your T Level journeys, sharing the challenges you’ve faced, the successes you’ve seen in your learners and staff, and reflecting on the TLPD programme as whole. You can share your reflections before the Network on our website Reflections on TLPD

Over the last six years, thousands of T Level practitioners have taken part in the ETF T Level Professional Development (TLPD) Programme, building their knowledge, skills and industry understanding through a wide range of professional development opportunities.

As the programme draws to a close, we would like to invite you to join us for an exclusive online network event to celebrate achievements, reflect on learning and look ahead to the future.

Whether you've participated in one aspect of TLPD or many, we'd be delighted for you to join us as we celebrate you, your colleagues, your learners and the sector as a whole for championing T Levels. Join us for a final hour of collaboration and professional growth.

"We’ve been able to receive guidance and support from networking opportunities and discussion with other colleagues around the country facilitated through the ETF which has been fantastic." David Hodgson, Quality Assurance Lead, Trafford and Stockport College Group.

Previous Networks

This session was a practical, sharing and networking space using real industry insight recordings as the starting point, exploring how FE teachers can turn digital content into high‑impact, low‑effort teaching resources, without reinventing the wheel or adding to workload.

Rather than a sales pitch, this hour shared what works in the classroom:

  • how teachers are using tools like Nearpod, Microsoft, Google, Moodle, H5P, and sector‑specific platforms to support learning
  • simple ways to turn industry recordings into interactive activities, checks for understanding, and assessment opportunities
  • practical approaches to embedding digital skills naturally, not as bolt‑ons
  • quick wins that save time while improving learner engagement and understanding.

This regional network for the South centred on strengthening employer engagement and sharing practical approaches to embedding industry insight into teaching and learning.

Our Construction Collaboration Day 3.0 was a great success where colleagues were able to  connect with peers across the sector.

Kirsten Hollister joined us again andfocused on how AI can support teaching, learning and inclusive delivery in T Levels, moving beyond isolated classroom uses towards a more deliberate implementation model. Kirsten shared a practical framework for adoption, including milestones for progressing from experimentation to embedded practice, with examples linked to pedagogy, collaboration, accessibility and learner support. Drawing on work in digital transformation and improvement, the session helped delegates consider not just where AI can add value in delivery, but how to introduce it in a structured, responsible and sustainable way.

.

This network was designed to strengthen collaboration, spark new ideas and provide practical approaches you can take away, try in your organisation, and share with your wider team.

This session explored a practical framework for moving from early experimentation with AI towards embedded, high-quality curriculum design. Drawing on live practice from college and national T Level work, Kirsten shared how AI can support authentic resource development, including industry scenarios, project briefs, case studies and assessment materials, while maintaining quality and professional judgement. The session introduced a staged adoption framework, with milestones to help delegates consider what should be in place before moving to the next level of implementation. Designed for practitioners and leaders, it shared both practical examples and a strategic lens for scaling effective practice.

Kirsten Hollister is Digital Enhancement Lead at Shrewsbury College and a specialist in digital education, leading work on AI adoption and digital transformation across the college. Her focus includes developing staff and student digital capability, supporting responsible AI implementation, and helping shape strategic approaches to innovation in teaching, learning and organisational practice. She works nationally with the Association of Colleges, Education and Training Foundation and Pearson on T Levels, and is a mentor on the T Level leadership programme for the ETF.

In this network we discussed the all-important themes of Quality and Ofsted in T Level provision. We hosted this network in collaboration with Steven Tucker, former His Majesty's Inspector (HMI) for Ofsted. Since 2022, has been a consultant to the FE and HE sectors, helping educators do their very best for their learners.

Steven enjoyed 9 years as an HMI inspecting further education colleges, dance & drama colleges, training providers and universities, having been a senior leader in an FE college. He has supported providers and colleges to make improvements and to deal with weaknesses in curriculum, teaching, leadership and management.

.

Oliver Rosen, Head of Media, Computing and Social Sciences Faculty at Acland Burghley School, joined us as our guest speaker. Oliver shared insights on creating meaningful industry partnerships and provided practical strategies for employer engagement.

.

This Health and Science focused T Level network explored how employers are supporting T Level curriculums. We were joined by industry professionals across the Health and Science sectors to explore the resources and technology they are developing to support teachers with curriculum delivery and how these employers are aligning their work with industry needs to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and workplace readiness to ensure students are equipped with the industry-standard skills needed to thrive in their future careers.

Previously on TLPD …
Our guest speaker, Ioan Davies, Director of Faculty for Academic Studies at Activate Learning, joined us again, in a follow-up session to his hugely popular network held on 23 January about project-based learning, and the project-based work they undertake within their faculty, linking their T Level students to businesses and industry.

The previous session explored how employer-led projects can be used to deliver high-quality T Level industry placements that are compliant, sustainable, and valuable to employers and learners.
This network is designed for both those that attended Ioan’s previous network, and for those that didn’t have the chance to attend.

Route Exchange Network -  Education and Early Years - Reflections and Insights with NCFE and a Chief Moderator - 25 March 2026

We invited all T Level practitioners to join us for this celebratory Learning From Network where we wrapped up term 2's Education and Early Years events. We were joined by Alana Bennet and Gemma McGregor, Provider Development Officers at NCFE, and insights from a Chief Moderator which allowed all those who attended the face-to-face events from Durham to Plymouth to share best practice with colleagues across the country, as well as allow those who could not make it in-person to join in the conversation too.

This network was designed to support colleges and schools in developing effective strategies around assessment in T Levels, and good practice on how to approach them. This network was a discussion forum, using breakout rooms, for practitioners to share their experiences in the area of assessment.
 In this network we discussed:

  • sharing best practice - exchange successful approaches to assessment, and problem solve with peers
  • collaborating for impact - build connections between colleges and schools, and share experiences
  • discuss how to approach administrative complexities and workload for assessment planning.

This network was designed to support schools and colleges in developing effective strategies for marketing and student recruitment, ensuring strong engagement with prospective learners and their families. We were joined by Will Knox, Head of Sixth Form at Ada Lovelace Church of England High School, where he has led the development and growth of a Sixth Form that is exclusively focused on T Level pathways.

In its first year, the Sixth Form received around 40 applications and enrolled just 20 students. As a result of targeted marketing, and strengthened recruitment processes, interest has grown dramatically. For the current admissions cycle, the Sixth Form received 320 applications for 60 places, despite maintaining high entry requirements of six Grade 5s including a Grade 6 in the chosen subject area.

In this network we will discuss:

  • sharing best practice: exchange successful approaches to marketing campaigns, digital engagement, and outreach activities
  • enhancing recruitment strategies: explore innovative methods to attract and retain students, including open events, social media, and community partnerships
  • practical ideas for improving visibility and engagement with target audiences
  • top tips from our guest speaker, Will Knox, Head of 6th Form at Ada Lovelace Academy.

Whether you’re just beginning to establish your T Level offer or looking to grow your existing provision, this session will provide actionable insights to boost your recruitment and strengthen your T Level offer.
